The Cost of Settling For less

As I continue stepping into my higher self, I have realized one key component to doing so. You have to let your inner bougie out.

I know that is hard for some people because we have been taught not to be too much. Not too loud. Not too confident. Not too beautiful. Not too flashy. Not too intelligent. I did not realize until my grown age that I was raised to play small, and I have been actively working to unlearn that.

I had to ask myself a powerful question I recently learned. Who does playing small benefit? The answer is other people’s comfort. The funny thing is, the world does not make anyone feel comfortable, so why should you?

I encourage people to speak loudly about what they feel they deserve and to say no to anything that does not align with that. When you do this, you begin painting the canvas of the life you desire. If you allow anything or anyone into your life that does not align, it will throw everything off, energetically and emotionally.

When you vibrate high, speak boldly, and demand the life you want, you naturally scare away people who are not on a similar vibration. That is not a loss. That is protection. It keeps you from being in situations where people subtly dim your light.

Saying no will feel uncomfortable at first. It feels like walking down a street lit with small flames, constantly having to step around them to keep moving forward. But those flames are distractions, and your destination requires discipline and clarity.

When you settle for less, life gives you worse. But when you choose to vibrate high and expect the best, your mindset shifts and so does your reality.

I recently experienced this firsthand. I work in the music industry and I get invited to events often. I was invited to an indie artist showcase, something I normally love. But as I continued stepping into my higher self, I felt an aversion. Not because I do not support independent artists, but because I have been grinding for ten years and I reached a point where I no longer need to place myself in spaces that do not align with where I am going. Typically, indie artists do not have much money, and it was hard to admit to myself that I now deserve more.

Letting that go was not easy. But energetically, I felt a shift. I felt myself opening up to bigger and wealthier opportunities.

Stepping into your higher self requires you to stop playing small. Some people may call you bougie, and that is okay. You can be a good person with strong morals and still demand more from life. Not everyone will like this version of you, and that is something you must accept.

Trust that God has a plan. Trust that when you release what no longer aligns, He will replace it with better people and better opportunities.

To play big, you have to show up as the part. Your higher self cannot be full of self doubt. They must be bold, confident, and unapologetic. This world is rough and people will test you daily. Protect your energy. Stay aware of your energetic field and vibrate high. So high that unworthy people feel uncomfortable
